Using Signal's AI Assistant
To help our customers get the most out of their price transparency searches, we have launched an AI assistant!
Accessing Signal AI
To use Signal AI, the following 2 conditions must be met:
- You must be in 'Search' mode
- Your search must have <1,000 results — please feel free to use the taxonomies, regions, modifiers, providers, and filter panels provided to zone in on your sub-set of data
Once you meet these conditions, Signal will automatically send your data-set to AI for processing and you may 'Ask AI' to help with a variety of tasks using the 'Ask AI' button next to the top of the data-set:

Some suggested prompts have been provided to help you get started or you can enter your own question using the space below:
For questions that are not pre-set, we recommend the following when prompting Signal AI :
- Be specific:
- Do not ask: what do my competitors get for E&M?
- Instead ask: can you put the following EINs into a table (XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXX) and rank them highest-to-lowest by their reimbursement rate for 99202-5, 99212-99215 with UHC, Cigna, and BCBS?
- Provide context:
- Do not ask: why does this data look off?
- Instead ask: Usually, we see for 97802 a rate in the range of ~$25. However, Medica looks to be posting rates around $100. Could you explain what's going on here?
- Break down complex requests into smaller pieces and ask follow-ups:
- Do not ask: how should I argue to BCBS I need a rate increase?
- Instead ask:
- Prompt #1: I am a GI group (EIN XXXXXXXXX) and I have an upcoming negotiation with BCBS where we are discussing my reimbursement rates. Can you first show me what my rates currently are with them based on the data provided for my top code: 45380?
- Prompt #2: Thanks — these do look like my rates! Can you compare them to the other providers in the market for that code and let me know what percentile I am in?
- Prompt #3: Seems like I am below some others in the market! Can you share who has higher rates than me for 45380?
- Prompt #4: Of those you shared, I feel our practice is closest to X & Y provider group! How can I argue we deserve their rates?
- Give feedback: Remember, AI — just like any human — is far from perfect! If something looks wrong, investigate what happened and feel free to point out any mistakes. That will help your Assistant learn and improve!
